1. How many books do you own?
I have no idea. I have tons of them in Brazil, either at our farm or at our apartment in Londrina. I also have all the books I bought during my five years in Montreal in Kevin's farm outside Ottawa. And then there are the books which I've accumulated here in London...
2. What is the latest book you bought?
I've stopped buying books; what's the point when I live near two libraries, get occasional book coupons from work, or have LJ friends send them to me? I did, however, buy a paperback novel on my flight to Brazil in February - it was Michael Connelly's first novel, The Black Echo.
3. What is the last book you read?
I finished over this weekend a book on writing, called The Right to Write, by Julia Cameron. She suggests some great writing exercises.
4. Which 5 books mean a lot to you?
- A Morte Tem Sete Herdeiros, a book from my childhood
- A Hundred Years of Solitude, by Gabriel Garcia Marquez
- Pride and Prejudice, by Jane Austen (I've read this twice already)
- The Haunt of Hill House, by Shirley Jackson (the best ghost story ever told)
- The Blind Assassin, by Margaret Atwood (because it made me fall in love with her, and now her books are like comfort food to me)
