Reviews of Saturday's goth housewarming party can be read hErE, HeRe, H3r3, and hwrw. I'm feeling too lazy to write about it, but I'll mention two incidents that happened on my way home.
After waiting hours for a nightbus to show up, I managed to make my way to Trafalgar Square. I had to wait for a second bus outside the McDees near Charing Cross, together with other drunk people. There was an old man beside me, with a cane, who was practically toppling over. A group of young guys came walking down the street, eating MdDees french fries and laughing; one of them aimed at the old man and threw a french fry at him. They continued to laugh when, a few moments later, while they screamed at a young guy jogging past them, the jogger punched one of them on the arm and kept going. I thought it was a beautiful example of instant karma. I could see their bravado ooze out onto the pavement.
Then, later on, while I was sitting on the second-floor of the number 23 bus, we stopped by a crowd of people waiting for buses near Picadilly. I noticed that one girl, at the back of the crowd, was staring at me. I was in that drunk and careless mood, so I stared right back at her. She smiled and said something to her friends, who then stared at me. I didn't take my eyes away and I saw her mouth the sentence "he is staring at me". That's when my mitted hand came up and I waved at them at the same moment they lifted their hands and waved at me.
Then, as the bus pulled away, they took a photo of me.
