Talking about bad bad bad girls

I keep trying to find users with the random button. I want to find someone who has LJ friends in common with me. I think my chances are very slim.

[identity profile] rina82.livejournal.com 2003-08-07 08:25 am (UTC)(link)

[identity profile] rina82.livejournal.com 2003-08-07 08:43 am (UTC)(link)

[identity profile] commonpeople.livejournal.com 2003-08-07 08:45 am (UTC)(link)
i guess we are a bored team, aren't we?

[identity profile] commonpeople.livejournal.com 2003-08-07 08:31 am (UTC)(link)

I did that the other day when I was bored at work! I found two friends that I had actually met before when I lived in Portland! They both knew my friend Misty. :) It's a small world...

[identity profile] commonpeople.livejournal.com 2003-08-07 08:28 am (UTC)(link)
and did you find me through [livejournal.com profile] soopahiro or the random button?

i would love to find a long lost friend...

[identity profile] myendeavorca.livejournal.com 2003-08-07 08:33 am (UTC)(link)
Wow, that was almost as quick as AIM! Anyway, yeah, I met you thru soopahiro. I looked at your journal because I thought what you said about keeping your day job and using your free time for creative pursuits (writing) was downright GENIUS! In fact, I used my free time yesterday to write page 1 of my novel! I hope I can keep it up. :)

I have my friends to thank for my inspiration. I realized that there is no time to waste. All we leave behind us are our friends, families, and WORK. So work I will.

[identity profile] commonpeople.livejournal.com 2003-08-07 08:36 am (UTC)(link)
i must add you as a friend then! because i'm also working on a novel.

I had written about 21 chapters before I realized that i didn't care at all about my characters and had no clue about the plot... I see it as an experiment as to whether I could write something long.

Now that I know I can, I'm searching for something meaningful to myself to write about.

Soopa is a great guy and I'm sure he's going to find his passion and follow it fully.

;o)

[identity profile] myendeavorca.livejournal.com 2003-08-07 08:42 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, he is awesome. Big Rob is wonderful too. I remember correctly, they used to write comic books and illustrate them together. They made a great team. I was hoping that they would pick that up again...but it looks like it may be an end of an era. :( But if he does his acting again, that would be wonderful too! I saw yearbook pictures of him in upteen school plays.

I personally am going to try to write my novel based on events that actually happened to me from ages 14-18. I need to get a clear outline together, but luckily I have journals to base my novel off of. Someone told me when I was very young to "write what you know"...or maybe it was those Anne of Avonlea books I read, and re-read. ;)

[identity profile] commonpeople.livejournal.com 2003-08-07 08:45 am (UTC)(link)
to write what you know is a great plan... specially if it's your first novel.

So you know Big Rob and Rob Smith personally? Were they the friends you discovered by accident in LJ?

[identity profile] myendeavorca.livejournal.com 2003-08-07 08:47 am (UTC)(link)
OH, I added you as a friend too!

And I meant to say: If I remember correctly... up there!

[identity profile] commonpeople.livejournal.com 2003-08-07 09:21 am (UTC)(link)
ah! :o)

[identity profile] myendeavorca.livejournal.com 2003-08-07 08:52 am (UTC)(link)
Yes, I have known them personally for many years. My husband introduced me to them. He knew big Rob first (they used to live together) and later, little Rob moved in when they got together. Jason moved back to Texas where his family lives and where he met me, and I met them first when they came to visit. They had to "approve" me as his girlfriend, lol. Anyway, they did approve. Big Rob was Jason's best man in our wedding. Then shortly after our wedding we moved to Portland to be closer to them. They are like family to Jason, and we both wanted to get out of Texas! So we did, we lived there for three years, but then the economy went to shit and we moved to San Diego, CA about 5 months ago.

[identity profile] commonpeople.livejournal.com 2003-08-07 09:02 am (UTC)(link)
that's great! i would love to be living close to friends... but unfortunately they are all in Canada and Brazil (i'm Brazilian) so I have to content myself with only a few ones in London...

Do you like San Diego?

[identity profile] myendeavorca.livejournal.com 2003-08-07 09:09 am (UTC)(link)
well, I don't live close any more...so you are not the only one! I feel your pain!

[identity profile] commonpeople.livejournal.com 2003-08-07 09:21 am (UTC)(link)
have you been able to make friends in San Diego?

[identity profile] myendeavorca.livejournal.com 2003-08-07 09:32 am (UTC)(link)
Well...I had a few before moving here. My friend Kate who I have known since high school. She is married to a Marine deployed to Iraq. Her place is actually about an hour's drive away because she lives on base. She has two kids already, so we don't have a whole lot in common now. I see her about once a month.

And the friends we have that live closer are in Ocean Beach, about 15 minutes from University City, the neighborhood I live in. James used to be married to my friend Mary and live in PDX. They divorced because he came out. He moved out here about a year ago. He lives with Robby now and they were our inspiration for moving here.
They are really cool, but the drama level gets a little high sometimes.

I don't hang out with anyone I've met at work so far, and I don't know any of my neighbors. I feel like the older I get, the harder it is to make new friends. I get lonely sometimes, but I am glad I have Jason and my kitty. :)

[identity profile] soopahiro.livejournal.com 2003-08-07 09:43 am (UTC)(link)
You guys still see James? Tell him hi for me. I was just thinking about him the other day.

[identity profile] myendeavorca.livejournal.com 2003-08-07 09:51 am (UTC)(link)
No way. He just asked about you too. That is wierd. OK, want his #?

[identity profile] soopahiro.livejournal.com 2003-08-07 10:16 am (UTC)(link)
We were talking about going to Fort Stevens, which made me think back. I'd settle for his e-mail address if he's pretty good on checking it.

[identity profile] commonpeople.livejournal.com 2003-08-07 03:20 pm (UTC)(link)
i know exactly how you feel... i've been in London for 2 years now and I've only made 2 or 3 good friends... people in big cities, and the older we get, just don't want to make an effort.

[identity profile] commonpeople.livejournal.com 2003-08-08 01:47 am (UTC)(link)
miss you too!

[identity profile] soopahiro.livejournal.com 2003-08-07 09:41 am (UTC)(link)
Seeing you talk to Melissa is very cute.

[identity profile] commonpeople.livejournal.com 2003-08-07 03:16 pm (UTC)(link)
she is very nice! i like meeting people in LJ through LJ friends... makes the whole journal thing worthwhile.

[identity profile] commonpeople.livejournal.com 2003-08-07 03:07 pm (UTC)(link)
i dont know... have you had success?

[identity profile] http://users.livejournal.com/_medium_/ 2003-08-07 09:31 pm (UTC)(link)
like once in a while but not very often.

[identity profile] http://users.livejournal.com/_medium_/ 2003-08-09 01:32 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm sure you will find someone some where :D

[identity profile] commonpeople.livejournal.com 2003-08-10 03:37 am (UTC)(link)
