In Defence of an Evening at Home

Friday is always a relief. It doesn't matter what I do tonight, it doesn't matter if I just read a book until 11pm and go to sleep while listening to XFM (or Late Junction.)
What matters is that I won't work tomorrow.
I have my day planned. I'm going to wake up early and get my haircut. Next, hit a couple of stores in Covent Garden for T-shirts, maybe HMV for their CDs Summer Sales, maybe even buy a book. I'll take my time, I'll go stir crazy in the shade, I'll never let the waterbottle leave my lips.
I went to the gym during lunch hour, as usual. It keeps me sane, and breaks my otherwise dull weekdays. Once I'm through their doors, changed and running on the treadmill, I feel my brain drop all the bored office garbage (eventhough I'm doing something which some of you might consider boring)... it feels great. The gym has been fairly empty this Summer, with all the students gone. Come September, the vibe of the place will probably change when they come back.

I was running for 12 minutes when I realized I was wearing Henrique's T-shirt. He is a good friend from Brazil and he gave the T-shirt to me a few years ago, when I had nothing clean to wear on my flight back home (i don't remember where home was then...) We don't keep in touch anymore as much as we used to. I miss his friendship sometimes, or just hearing a word from him. I also miss my friends Bruno and Andrea in Brazil... actually, I miss everyone, mostly Meire and her crazy cats, Ronise, Leci...
It's tough living in London and not having many friends here.
