What do you think of this strange theatre?

It looks to me like the Americans shot it down with one of their drones. Probably there were wanted terrorists among the Indonesians on board. Funny that there were no Americans onboard although some were booked on but withdrew at the last moment.

The plane obviously came down immediately after leaving Malaysian airspace but before entering Vietnamese. This is where the Chinese photographed some debris on Sunday already but the Malaysians (who must be in on it) started a rumour that the plane had turned back and passed overland again into the Mallaca Strait. Then diverted all the search to that area giving the debris time to sink out of sight.

Did you ever go on a plane in Asia with NO Americans on board? I did not.

So whenever you travel make sure there are Americans on the plane!

BBC News states three Americans were onboard?

Conspiracy theorists are weird. Why would the Malaysian be "in on it"? If they were, wouldn't they just have stopped the plane from leaving,a nd arrested anyone who needed to be arrested at the airport? And how likely is it, really, that the US would shoot down a whole plane, potentially sparking a massive international incident as well as killing hundreds of innocent people, because there were a couple of "wanted terrorists" on it? After all, there were passengers from not only China, Malaysia and the US but also Canada, Russian, New Zealand, France, and various others (according to CBC, among others).

I agree! I remember well the Air France case, which was a mystery for so long. I had taken that flight many times...

Not to mention that some of the debris will float. That's how they found the Air France flight - debris surfaced and floated so they knew roughly where it was, even if it took two years to find the actual craft.

Someone in the office today that it was the Chinese who stole the plane because of something valuable in the cargo. I can't imagine any one thing that wouldn't be easier to try and steal once the plane was actually on Chinese soil!

It's freaking weird though, no two ways about it. I can't imagine how friends and relatives are feeling.

I used to take that Air France flight! I remember that mystery well. In the end they concluded the pilot was asleep, wasn't he?

The captain was asleep to start with, but one of the co-pilots made an error that caused the plane to stall and fall into the ocean. Sad stuff: I feel bad for that pilot's family, although there are other problems/bad judgement around that error that meant that no-one noticed the main mistake.

This whole story just boggles my mind. I feel like I'm watching an episode of LOST.

weirdly enough, YouTube has started recommending The Langoliers to me. Did you ever read King's story or see the film?
