Im in Sao Paulo, at my friend Henrique's place. We went to a bar full of rockers on Thursday night (when I arrived) and an anorexic model accused me of holding the curtains that led to the dance floor (later, she made out with Henrique in the toilets). An 18 year old Strokes fan grabbed my other friend, Bruno, on the dance floor. We drank a lot of beer and caipirinhas. She took photos of us and told us to look for them in her Fotolog (4 blind mice?) We came home at 5am.

Yesterday, we fucked around until 6pm. Then Henrique dropped me at a cafe while he went to his work (an advertisement agency) for half an hour. I drank a Moka and a Latte, and ate cheese bread and a slice of carrot cake. Then we shopped for some steaks, beer and wine, to take to our friend Garnize's home for dinner. Garnize cooked the best risotto of my life, we drank 3 bottles of wine and a lot of beer, they smoked a joint, we sat around with their girlfriends, Garnize's brother, lots of ashtrays, and lots of talks about movies, sex, Europe, and murders.

I fell asleep watching The Life of Brian. Woke up again at 6, tried hard to wake Henrique, and we finally drove home and crashed.

Now we are going to the Country Club for lunch.

Internet has been installed at the farm; when I returne, I'll be able to catch up with you: hope you are all well.

Your userid is from Pulp! I had no clue, just heard the song last night at a club and am totally in love with it. Send me Pulp when you get back to England! I'll send you two cds, my mix and The Shins b/c you really need to hear them. They are so very obviously influenced by British music. When I first heard them I said that they're what really good Britpop could be...and they're from Oregon or something. But now with further listens, they're just really really influenced by it.

Now I need to get blank cds, I keep borrowing my roomie's.

yesyesyes, I loved it to bits. I listened to the music that I found on my puter (to my surprise, I love it when people just dump stuff on my iPod and I discover it later) but sadly, Common People is not among them. They're very mellow. When I looked them up on Amazon I was surprised to see so many recent albums, I had thought they were an 80s band. but most of their albums were in the last ten or so years. hm.

oh yeah, they have 4 great albums in the past couple of years... actually, all of their stuff is always pretty good.

yeah, once I saw the list I recognized This Is Hardcore, but I don't know much of them. I wasn't into that music when I had a source for it. isn't that always the way?

it's true... music comes into our lives sometimes years after it was released... i'm into, right now, Echo and the Bunnymen, and I want to hear more of The Church...

ah yes, I read that. I don't think I've ever heard The Church. I have a bit of EATBM on my puter but not much.

ive only heard one Church song... and I loved it. I hope the rest is good too.

Have you been to any good live shows recently?

Sadly, no. But I have an upcoming Toasters show. MONTHS ago I went to a Pietasters/Voodoo Glowskulls concert that fucking ruled. I surprised myself by throwing myself into the pit most of the night.

Can you play mp3 cds? as opposed to strictly audio? I want to make sure I can send you a good mix of stuff without doing more than your cd player can deal with.

Kevin has a Mac which has ITunes - it plays MP3s... but im not familiar with whether it would work MP3s from PC... im not very computer literate!

No, no, I mean if you were to play it in a cd player, like a walkman, does your walkman support mp3s. It'll work in PCs and Macs just fine. Just not necessarily if your walkman doesn't.

Ok, well your puter will play it. But if you would rather play it on your stereo then I will make one that will work with it.

don't worry. It's all just technical crap about how much info I can fit on one disk. I'm just gonna send you stuff I know you'll be able to play.

your life right now contains everything that I love:
Mokas, cheese bread, steak, [red] wine, Life of Brian...

my Brazilian friend Bibi told me about caipirinhas: that's her favorite poison of choice.

Sounds like a blast! You don't smoke? (anything)

I used to smoke a pack of ciggies a day, and a lot of pot too... but then I became paranoid, and unhealthy, and unfit - plus, my mom's doctor warned her off ciggies - so I decided to quit (i quit together with my mom and brother cigarettes, and I just stopped smoking pot)

It doesn't bother me if others smoke but it's something not right for my body anymore.

I hear you, me neither. I quit smoking ciggs 2 yrs ago and well I nurse so I can't smoke pot. Although I would love to, even though I know it's totally bad for my mind....I get crazy paranoid!

i wish they would have different types of pot available for choice: I would love to smoke or eat only the kind that is mild, gives you a nice body buzz and a happy feeling. Im not into the kind of pot that makes you hallucinate and kicks your head like a giant skinhead boot.

:)

Well the REALLY good stuff, I mean the lab grown shit, doesn't have that effect until much later and depending what level of pot head you are...but in the end it seems smarter to just knock it out...sad truth.
