It has finally happened: the phone line got cut. I had no idea I was spending so many hours on the internet and slowly pilling up the bill. Result, we owe the phone company more than 100 pounds and I'm forced to use the internet at the nearest post office for "important" business.

Crumpets are the bee's knees.

I read a novel yesterday in one sitting: In The Cut, by Susanne Moore. It's set in New York, it features a lot of pornography and graphic descriptions of murder and mutilation. It has a sassy heroine who teaches creative writing to 19-year-old gangster dudes. It's just plain wicked and you must all go out and read it. I think they made a film with Meg Ryan (with Jane Campion as director) which, I'm sure, is infinitley inferior to the book.

And I'm close to finishing off a box of 150 paper tissues. My nose wakes me up at night, dripping and clogging the breathing pipes. At least I'm not having nightmares with N.Y.P.D. men tying me to their office desks and sodomizing me.

Omg that's gross...I don't even want to think about it...what happened to us living in a fantasy world? Your world is just like the real thing!

Have you changed the filter for your heat\air? It's probably full of dust and shit...you can get a good, cheap filter at home depot...or whereever you Brits shop ;p

We brits have no filter to our air! This country is more Third World than Brasil... but you are right about the dust, my apartment needs a cleaning and I think I'm going to do it today...

That novel I mentioned, In the Cut, features a lot of Bronx slang...

;)

Hm, then I might not be able to understand it...I'm from Queens lol. I'll check it out...wait maybe I won't, I don't do well with rape anything. Is your heat\air central? Meaning it's running through the entire apartment...if so you can open the system and on the bottom should be a place for a filter...

No... our home is very old and we get our air from opening the windows... lol. I cleaned the house yesterday and I'm "miraculously" better. I think you were right about the dust.

Yeah, that book has some tough scenes in it. What kind of novels do you like?

Hm...dark, depressing lost love type novels. Preferably with a tragic ending...something I can relate too ;p Desperate love...I'm incredibly goth-at-heart, lol.

NO AIR CONDITIONING!!! I would move.

Why can't you get an air con. for the window?

You know the last novel I read was like 3 yrs ago...I read tons of non-fiction...so I can recommend those...I was fishing for a suggestion from you, lol.

oh... I really love Margaret Atwood... her novel Blind Assassin is great. And there's this writer from New York who wrote a novel called The Fuck Up, which is just brilliant too.

Any non-fiction suggestions are very welcome! I'm reading the essays of Camille Paglia right now (thus, my little quote there to stir some juices up...:P)

I must rent it... the end of the book is very original, shocking and haunting...
