THIS IS A COMMONPEOPLE MEME:

I want you to find the nearest book/magazine to you, flick through it, and select a sentence ---> randomly.

Then I want you to leave a comment here with that sentence (and, if you like, where you got it from.)

I'm going to write a short story interconnecting all of the sentences, then post it here for my public shaming.

Go forth my children and bring me back the sentence.

Crazed with love for the lady in pink, I covered my old uncle's tobacco-filled cheeks with mad kisses, and, while with some embarrassment he let me know without venturing to tell me openly that he would just as soon I not talk about this visit to my parents, I said to him, tears in my eyes, that the memory of his goodness was so powerful within me that one day I would certainly find the means to show him my gratitude.
