Once upon a time, a feisty red-headed princess lived in the Canadian prairies. The King and the Queen were getting fed up with her since all day and all night long she would play noisy music in her chambers. They asked her politely if she would listen to proper music, the kind that was pleasant to the ears and which all the other little princesses liked. But this only caused the feisty princess to shave her head and purchase black boots from one of the guards.
For days the King tried to find a way to bring sense into his daughter's head. After much thought, he asked her if she would like a job handling the kingdom's finances. That way, by dealing with commoners all day, she would learn to appreciate her distinguished life and soon give up her rebellious ways. This plan backfired because the little princess found herself with much time in the large finance tower. When not shouting at ignorant merchants, she spent long afternoons writing letters to other rebellious royal children.
Eventually, the little princess fell in love with a famous bard from another kingdom. Sadly, the bard was one of those limp wristed artistes. Her heart was broken.
Noticing that nothing would cheer up his daughter, the King took her for a walk in the Palace's courtyard.
"My dear daughter," he said. "Look at all these beautiful carriages. You may choose anyone of them for yourself."
She squealed with delight. "Really? And I can go everyday to the finance tower with my new carriage?"
"That's right. You take good care of it," he said, helping her onto a large vehicle (which he had secretly bought second hand just a week before.)
When she left that morning for her work, little did the King realize that she was going to take that carriage on a ride around the world.
