I went dancing last night. The daughter to the first german embassador to Kazakistan was in attendance and did not like to dance. We'd be "doing things" on the dancefloor, in our protective circle, while she stood nearby holding on to her purse and smiling. At one point, while sitting in the front of the club with her to get some rest, we saw this guy vomit consistently for fifteen minutes on his arms. All his friends bailed out and left him alone. With friends like that...

I went out in a group of 8 women. Much lamenting was made of Kevin staying home to work on his movie and no other bloke being in the group. Later, when half of the women had gone home because they were too tired/bored/upset that the average age of the crowd was 18, some strange fellow arrived, jumped around on the dance floor and almost started a riot, made comedy faces over the music to communicate, then sodded off. The music ranged from soul to indie, with bits of everything thrown in between.

The DJ was crap but, the drunker we got, the less we cared. Dance I did and sore are my knees and my feet today. I also got very drunk and had to text people when I got home to let them know I was ok. There was a discarded Burger King paper bag in my garbage and I momentarily contemplated raffling through it. Settled instead for toast with cream cheese and a glass of milk with chocolate powder.

Lay in bed and slept for three hours. Woke up feeling like my skin was wrapped around cheap old tobacco that was ready to spill out. Watched some documentary about children with ADHD, took a shower, fried eggs and made more toast, watched Kids in the Hall, then went back to bed and woke up about an hour ago.

I'd been thinking of going there. So, you don't recommend it, then?

I've been to much better clubs. It's a cheap night, and it can be fun after you are drunk and you are with your friends... but the crowd is way too young for me and I get easily annoyed with DJs who think it's ok to follow a Blur song with some dodgy techno. I like consistency on the dance floor. ;-)

I've only been twice though and Silke, who goes religiously, says that every night is very different, including the music... so I'd say give it a go and see what you think.

Just realized how Ageist that comment made me sound! There's nothing wrong with a young crowd... it's all in my head.

Yeah, clubbing is no fun when embassadors' kids tag along. I guess Prince William had a previous engagement?

Prince William was attending a Nazi rally somewhere.

For an embassador kid, she was very straight. Usually they are the first to hit the toilets with their gold credit cards... :P
