Trip to Brazil - Natal e Salvador

I have only ten days left in Britain before my flight to Brazil. I spoke to my mom on the phone a few days ago and it looks like I might be going to the Northeast of Brazil for a few days with my brother, on a holiday package-thingy. It's a region of Brazil that I don't know at all, but which I've always wanted to visit. The plan is to stay in Natal (you can see some photos compiled by the city's tourist board here.) then further south for a day or two in Salvador (the city's official site).

When Brazil was originally colonized, all the settlements and plantations were in the Northeast region. The architecture is, if I'm not mistaken, heavely Baroque in these two cities. There's a strong African influence because of all the slaves brought over during the centuries, and the beaches are supposed to be phenomenal. But, the best thing of all, it's off tourist season so we will probably be able to enjoy ourselves a lot more.

My brother wrote to me recently that he now has a digital camera, so I'll be able to show some pictures to you soon afterwards - instead of a year later, like with the Kew Gardens' ones.

These past few days have been filled with swimming, reading magazines about electro-pop, watching tv (and avoiding Desperate Housewives - I've given up on it), and hanging out with Kevin and the Sissys. In effect, I'm killing time until the plane takes off.

Well, still on Season 4. Last episode I watched some chick came out of a coma, beat the shit out of people, almost killed Buffy's mom, then some kind of transference happened when she held Buffy's hand with a weird object. Can't wait for the next episode!
