The Evil Rave in my Head
For the past month I've been hearing this weird pulse in my head, close to my right ear. I thought at first that I was finally able to hear my heartbeat without relying on my fingers. Then I got concerned when it appeared to be so irregular: I thought I was on the verge of an aneurism.
I went to see the NT's nurse on my lunch break and she said I probably have tinnitus. I've made an appointment to see my GP Monday morning.
I've gone through the list of potential causes for this but I can't explain its appearance. I'm thinking it could be related to the swimming pool, or maybe because I swallow Nurofen like candy. I'm hoping -- everyone cross your fingers and paws for me -- that it's only earwax buildup. I don't even want to think of hearing loss (which I already have because of being a stupid teenager that listened a lot to his walkman).
I'm no longer in the mood for going to Lady Luck Club tonight.

what's nurofen?
i hope the symptoms magically disappear with the elf i send to you in the night. also, your shoes will be fixed.

Nurofen is a stronger type of aspirin. I think I've built up my resistance to it though because two of them really don't do that much to me. So now I'm stopping all that business of pill popping when my eyes are bugged out from too much computer staring.
Send the elf soon. Bed is cosy and I'm sliding in when the white horses arrive.

The only thing that'll help me from computer eyes/head is closing my eyes and resting my head. Preferrably in a darkened room. Sometimes pot will help, but mostly I'll feel too cranky to smoke.
The elf is on his way. He asks that you leave the shoes to be cobbled out in plain view, though he'll find them regardless.

I like resting my eyes in the dark too. With music. Lying in bed. Covering my eyes with my hands made into half-shells.

Cutting back on your ibuprofen intake might be a good idea too - just 'cos
:)
I already have hearing loss from too much walkman use and gig attendage ( must get myself a decent pair of earplugs before the next lot start again) and after the Chiefs gigs in October my ears were majorly ringing.

FWIW, I've given myself hearing loss over the years with stupid amounts of loud gigs and headphone music as a kid... It's only recently that people having been pointing out just how bad it's getting. Lots of sounds that others in the room have no problem hearing I just can't hear and I can't make out direction of sound that well sometimes any more. :(
Hopefully you've just got an earwax build-up. But you should try to lay off the Nurofen anyway!!
