Dot in the Sky ([personal profile] dotinthesky) wrote2006-01-22 10:19 am

(no subject)

There's a massive cloud of smoke near my apartment, and helicopters flying all over the sky. I can hear ambulances and fire engines... but I can't find anything on the news or on TV about what's going on!

Surely if there'd been an explosion, or crash, I would have heard it?

Oooh keep up posted!

[identity profile] commonpeople.livejournal.com 2006-01-22 10:57 am (UTC)(link)
It's been 45 minutes and the news is still not saying anything. The cloud of smoke has disappeared so they must have controlled it.

Still, you think they would let you know whats going on.

You'll probably hear the gosspi from the neighbours later !

I'm sure it will be on the news tonight. I'll post an updated link when I find out. :-)

Do you live in West London? BBC News London is reporting that there is a fire at Westbourne Park Bus Garage (http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/london/4636606.stm), which has been described as a major incident.

[identity profile] commonpeople.livejournal.com 2006-01-22 06:57 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes, I live very close to there! I live near Royal Oak tube, which is just the next stop on the Hammersmith line. Thanks for the link. ;-)

Maybe just a fire of some sort?

[identity profile] commonpeople.livejournal.com 2006-01-22 06:58 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes, that's what it turned out to be (links in this post's comments.)

[identity profile] tonight-we-fly.livejournal.com 2006-01-22 02:09 pm (UTC)(link)
Wow, that's so bizarre. I went running along the Grand Union Canal this morning at about 10am, and could see all the black smoke billowing up in the distance. I thought Blimey, something's on fire, and from the location of other landmark buildings (well, that funny shaped tower block at the top of Ladbroke Grove) I guessed that it was somewhere roughly around Westbourne Park.

Then I looked on the news when I got home and there was nothing. But I caught the Hamersmith and City Line at about noon, and the train didn't stop at Westbourne Park station (without any explanation).

Aha! All is revealed!

Coisa boa nunca aparece! O ser humano está muito tragico! Só coisas ruim aparecem. Dá pra ver pela quantidade de filmes e seriados sobre tragedias, assassinatos, etc...

coloca sal grosso na sua casa que afasta todo o mal!!!

Haha! Vou colocar sim. ;-)
