There's a massive cloud of smoke near my apartment, and helicopters flying all over the sky. I can hear ambulances and fire engines... but I can't find anything on the news or on TV about what's going on!

Surely if there'd been an explosion, or crash, I would have heard it?

Do you live in West London? BBC News London is reporting that there is a fire at Westbourne Park Bus Garage (http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/london/4636606.stm), which has been described as a major incident.

Yes, I live very close to there! I live near Royal Oak tube, which is just the next stop on the Hammersmith line. Thanks for the link. ;-)
