You are? Though I love most of Greenaway’s work I prefer this one, as the sets and scenery still have that lovely magical realism quality to them without being too affected. The characters are more relatable, more humorous and all those lovely country and seaside scenes and activities of: swimming at night,shagging in the hedges eating brambles, catching insects etc, for some curious reason make me think of home. My family is a matriarchal one and admittedly quite eccentric, but thankfully without the penchant for viricide. Which is your favourite of his films?
ribs still painful when I walk or turn in my sleep, but I think they are otherwise on the mend. :-)
The reason why I ask is because many people I know dislike that film, and I think I was quite put off by it when I saw it (though it was many years ago and maybe I should see it again and check whether I missed something.)
I love The Cook, The Thief.... I've seen it at least three times and it's always amazing. Plus, I love Helen Mirren (just watched Prime Suspect for the 100th time this past week). Anything with her in it is gold. ;-)
