Hampstead Heath was Kevin & mine's destination this Saturday. We waited until noon to leave our home, after the real estate agent had come round with a couple to see the apartment. I'd spent the morning playing Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door and was itching to get some sunshine. Kevin suggested we pack a backpack with our usual stuff (towels, water, sandwiches) and head north. And so we did.

On the way there, we bumped into Gillian McKeith as we entered our train. I bought two bananas, a BLT sandwich, a raspberry/strawberry smoothie and a 1L bottle of water once we reached Hampstead Heath's southern entrance. Shirtless men throwing frisbees reminded us of Montreal's Mount-Royal Park; one of the pond's was covered with algae, which Kevin photographed with his disposable camera; not many people seemed to be around, and the percentage of queers wandering around was quite high -- I even spotted a few men in the woods, off the tracks.

We reached the lawn just south of Kenwood House and settled on the soft grass; Kevin stretched himself underneath a tree and listened to his mini-iPod while I plopped myself on my towel and worked on my tan. After an hour, boredom got the best of us; we walked towards Kenwood House for capuccinos in the garden then left after Kevin bought an ice-cream.

We learned today that there's a bus -- the number 46 -- which runs from Hampstead all the way to Warwick Avenue Tube, the station nearest our home. We bought our dinner at Tesco and arrived home about half an hour ago. I'm now waiting for the boiler to heat up so I can clean the bathrooms.

We watched Serenity last night (blergh) and we are watching Kiss Kiss Bang Bang tonight. After Big Brother, of course.

That's cool that you saw Gillian McKeith. I think if I saw her in the same place as I was I'd think she was coming after me.

Coming after you for what reason?

To poke me in my fat belly and to tell me she wants to look at my poo

You could grab her and snap her like a twig.

Serenity is nowhere near as good as Firefly.

Sounds like a lovely day. I need to do stuff like that more often.

Ack! You didn't like Serenity!? I loved it, that's how I got into Firefly.

It didn't stand on its own for me. It was obvious that the characters were from a TV series, and there was a lack of focus to the story. If they hadn't worried about focusing so much on the different characters, and instead centred the story around the main ones, I think it could have been stronger.

those ARE all the main ones! can't leave any of them out or make any lesser characters. but yes, it's clearer in the show.

I always enjoy reading your posts - they're like reminders of to be human beingsinstead of my approach: thinking I must always be a human doing. Your life with Kevin sounds almost idyllic ~ think about it - you working at the National Theatre seeing the latest and greatest in stage productions and running into minor celebraties in the normal course of your life, Kevin an artist having his works exhibited internationally - you a budding famous author - le sigh....thanks for sharing!

I'm glad you enjoy reading them, but you must remember that these are just my version of events... and I have been known to add flowers to where there's only concrete.

Being a human that is mostly doing is actually one of my dreams! I sometimes feel that I'm just going with the current, being all the time and not really concentrating more on my writing (an example of doing in my opinion). But I'm not complaining about my life; I spent my first years in London in a slump because I didn't like my job, so it's a relief to finally be somewhere that might help me grow a satisfying career.

What would be the Hampstead Heath? I thought it was related with hemp, lol

It's a beautiful park just north of London's downtown. It has plenty of paths and it feels almost like a forest. It's a great place to go for walks and picnics.

I bet I could be alone there :)

For sure. Many people go there to jog, to walk, to read books, and even to find love (at night, it's a favourite place for gay men to go.) ;-)

Very very nice :)
I wish we had a place like that, so I can find love, enjoy the Nature and even celebrate it with my Pagan rites.

And what exactly are your Pagan rites? Do you like to run naked through the woods, in search of love? :0)

Lol! Nooo, that wouldn't be me running naked through the woods in search of love! XD
Pagan rites are rites to celebrate the Nature! I'd scare people running like that XD
