Wanted: Contributions to Art Project

"We are looking for entries for our latest book project, based on references.

We would like people to write a reference for an 'ex' (ex-lover, ex-partner), using the same format as that used in writing job references, i.e. you are forbidden to say anything directly negative about the person.

The reference can be as simple or as complex and you like, and the only other thing we ask is to supply a name of the person you're writing about. We don't want to 'expose' you or them, so this could be their full name, first name, nick name or just an initial.

I'd be so tempted to do one for my previous manager, but I'm not sure whether I'd be able to refrain from saying anything negative about her.

It says that you are forbidden of saying something "directly negative", but that doesn't mean you can't be ambivalent or enigmatic. ;-)
