Remember the good ol' days, when Livejournal constantly crashed -- entire continents couldn't access their journals for hours, days -- and people bitched about it for weeks? Ahhh! Those were the good ol' days.
Maybe we could simulate the thrill of it by wiggling the cable connecting your modem to the internet and then emailing people complaining you can't connect to LJ.
They are repetitively competent these days. Maybe the maintenance team took all our ball breaking and typed groaning as sign of true complaint and became more efficient, instead of what it actually was: something to talk about other than the weather and Harry Potter fanfics. Uh oh, watch now as I have a twice commenting/ posting trauma for the next three weeks. ; P Out of interest, how long have you been on here?
It will be six years in May! Weirdly enough, I feel like I've grown on this thing, learned a lot about myself, and even became a better writer. Plus, I'm thankful for all the wonderful friends I made. ;-)
i was thinking about that the other day. i remember once they went through their entre system and started sending out comments from three years prior that they had forgotten to send when they were first written. that was pretty exciting.
It felt like our journals were at the hands of geeky, and faulty, college students. Now it's all so professional and sleek. Thank god they didn't force free users to get advertisement on their pages.
yes, although i don't like that sleek new bar at the top of my journal. it's not necessary. but it could've been a lot worse. not that i have a myspace, but i've been on there and that is probably the most badly laid out piece of internet i have ever experienced. every page is bloated and requires a great deal of side scrolling. it's the most popular thing online. i don't really understand its gross underachievement.
I don't understand the appeal either. I had an account for a while but I then deleted it. Just didn't see the point. Perhaps it's good if you are an unknown musician, but it's not actually that good for striking good friendships.
