Ask

Questions I'd like answered today:

  • Why do so many powerful men prefer brasilian lovers? Recent examples: Peter Mandelson, Judge Mohammed Ilyas Khan and various top brass at Volkswagen.
  • Why do they keep finding headless bodies in the Thames?
  • Why is Jarvis Cocker's line up for this year's Meltdown Festival so disappointing?
  • Why doesn't Livejournal give us the power to remove people from our "friend of" list? (It would certainly bring back much needed Drama to Livejournal.)
  • Why is everyone joining Facebook? Haven't they learnt anything from Friendster a few years back?

I want to know how many people have been stupid enough to give facebook their email password as asked for here
https://register.facebook.com/findfriends.php
....... not that i think they are dodgy, but still, bad security!

Darling, like you need to ASK?

Why doesn't Livejournal give us the power to remove people from our "friend of" list?

I have my profile configured so it only shows my friends and my mutual friends. So no strange interlopers appear.

If you ban someone from your LJ it then removes them from your friends of list, but it's a bit extreme. Personally I don't know why people really care about the whole friends of thing, cause it's just people who friended you, not who you say you're friends with, iyswim.

What's Cocker's line up for Meltdown?

And obviously Brasilians Do It Best ;)

hey

yeah, what is with facebook all of a sudden? LJ, Myspace - how many online communities do we really need to be a part of

why DO they keep finding headless bodies in the Thames??? that's a bit odd and disturbing. to make it harder to identify the body? a characterisic of ritual killings? my imagination is running away with me...

that probably doesn't help does it?

[identity profile] greenteablack.livejournal.com 2007-05-02 01:37 pm (UTC)(link)
They keep finding headless bodies in the Thames??? My goodness, that's not good.

That Meltdown line up is rather lame. There are a few half decent acts on it but they're hardly the majority. Maybe everyone else is doing other things this summer.

Everyone is joining Facebook because they want to see what the big deal is and the secret is that there is no big deal. If you want to see what the guy who sat next to you in grade 1 is doing you can find him there and see what he's been doing for the last 25 years that you didn't bother to look him up. It's just strange and frightening

Or myspace now? I'm thinking of just kinda letting my myspace page go fallow and joining Vox. It's music-based and seems much better.

Nah, you're wrong. Facebook is the new MySpace. MySpace has gone to crap recently.

I actually really like Facebook. My roommate and I send each other silly messages all the time; we work opposite hours so it's almost the only way we can communicate!

Headless corpses! Oh My!

i never joined any of those things, myspace, facebook, etc. myspace is so horrible and ugly that my computer always freezes when i try to go on it. facebook is so annoying because you can't even stalk people on it! the majority of people's profiles are completely private for absolutely no reason. the only thing that's better about it is that it isn't so horrendous looking, nor does it allow thirteen year old girls to put huge, flashing pictures behind bright pink text while some terrible band wails. i admit that livejournal can be considered ridiculous, too, but there's so much more to do on it, and one can actually get to know people that they add.

totally agree w/ the removal of the 'friend of' thing. there's a troll on mine thats been there since forever I'd like to be removed.

Maybe "friend of" should be changed to "stalkers" or the more internet friendly "lurkers".

So sorry about the headless bodies in the Thames. Have the heads been found elsewhere or are they unaccounted for? The creepiest crime I heard of involving dismemberment was a torso was found in a duffel bag that washed up on shore, just outside the small town where I lived in New Hampshire. The torso was discovered to be from the daughter of a woman I worked with. They caught her murderer...her boyfriend who owned a butcher shop. I had nightmares for months. Still makes me cringe.

On the far more pleasant subject of Brazilian lovers, it seems to cross gender boundaries too. A client sent me a picture of herself with her love interest and he looked like he could get the job done. I'm sure these powerful men you mentioned know a thing or two about quality and skill.

Rosamicula and I are off to the national tomorrow for a play -- I forget which one (A matter of life and death). Want to meet up before hand for a drink/chat? Perhaps at 6 or 6:30 if it is a good time for you?

Don't know, I'm afraid is my offering, especially to # 2. Bloody hell! Do they really? : /

My friend tried to encourage me to join Facebook, saying it is very popular in Britain for a way of finding people you went to school with. Ye Gods! Now why would I want to do that? is my question.

Are you going to start banning now to create some drama, cheeky? ; P

1. Maybe its like a Colonial fantasy thing? Kaka's quite nice though.
2. Lord knows and its most disagreeable.
3. People were probably busy/lazy and the line-up is a 'best I could
do job.'
4. Dunno. Maybe they're hippies. Which is nice.
5. I had a look the other day. Looked shit so I declined!

"Why do so many powerful men prefer brasilian lovers?"

Cause they're hot? This powerful man hasn't quite figured out his preference for Brazilian lovers yet.
