With Every Stokey Heartbeat

Perfect song. Perfect video.

Bonus points for the singer reminding me of a certain LJ friend.

I'm sorry, but she looks WELL rough, Like a bleached Lisa Stansfield. As in "Been around the world and I I I, forgot my moisturiser".

[identity profile] commonpeople.livejournal.com 2007-12-30 01:24 am (UTC)(link)
She's got something pixie-ish about her, or maybe tomboyish? It's quite endearing.

[identity profile] naturalbornkaos.livejournal.com 2007-12-30 09:48 am (UTC)(link)
The only thing pixie-ish about her is her haircut. She looks like a bricklayer.

[identity profile] commonpeople.livejournal.com 2007-12-30 10:43 am (UTC)(link)
You guys are too rought and mean!

[identity profile] woodsrule.livejournal.com 2007-12-30 01:19 pm (UTC)(link)
I agree!! She actually looks like she means what she's singing which is to be applauded in my book, even if the lyrics are a tad empty. The close-up shots remind me a bit of 'Nothing Compares to You' - tho not much can compare to that song and vid...

I'm so glad that not all of our popstars are totally airbrushed into plastic. Long live real unmoisturised faces on screen!!

[identity profile] commonpeople.livejournal.com 2007-12-30 06:39 pm (UTC)(link)
Hail hail!

The video also reminds me of A-ha's "Take on Me", where the singer is in a comic book (as opposed to a plasticine world, like this one) and comes to a dire end. And I believe she's Scandinavian as well, so it's very fitting.

[identity profile] desayuno-ingles.livejournal.com 2007-12-30 03:58 am (UTC)(link)
wew ruff, hey?

[identity profile] annakey.livejournal.com 2007-12-30 01:21 am (UTC)(link)
LOL

You little toerag!

It's the outfit that does it. Someone told me I look like Roxette the other day. (All of them?)

[identity profile] commonpeople.livejournal.com 2007-12-30 01:22 am (UTC)(link)
Well, it's your latest hairstyle that reminded me of Robyn (or vice versa?) I love that style on women - it's not something anyone can pull!

[identity profile] moral-vacuum.livejournal.com 2007-12-30 01:30 am (UTC)(link)
If the icon and video are anything to go by, Annakey looks about 15 years younger!

[identity profile] commonpeople.livejournal.com 2007-12-30 01:31 am (UTC)(link)
She probably is. Robyn was cracking out the hits way back in the 90s.

[identity profile] annakey.livejournal.com 2007-12-30 01:50 am (UTC)(link)
I was doing the rounds in the 90s.

[identity profile] commonpeople.livejournal.com 2007-12-30 01:51 am (UTC)(link)
You clearly didn't do as many rounds as Robyn.

[identity profile] annakey.livejournal.com 2007-12-30 01:55 am (UTC)(link)
Haha

Bet my breast is redder.

[identity profile] annakey.livejournal.com 2007-12-30 01:40 am (UTC)(link)
Thank you for your kind words there.

[identity profile] annakey.livejournal.com 2007-12-30 01:42 am (UTC)(link)
I'm not sure about it myself. Don't you think it looks better spiked up a bit (http://pics.livejournal.com/annakey/pic/0004c2g9)? (Ignore the man with the oblong mouth.)

[identity profile] commonpeople.livejournal.com 2007-12-30 01:51 am (UTC)(link)
Hmmmm... I guess I like both? Maybe choose according to place, situation and mood? Or is it not possible with the cut right now?

[identity profile] annakey.livejournal.com 2007-12-30 02:00 am (UTC)(link)
It is a versatile cut, I just haven't got the time to faff about with it these days. This is a very girly conversation we're having.

[identity profile] commonpeople.livejournal.com 2007-12-30 02:13 am (UTC)(link)
Girly conversations are a breath of fresh air around here. :-)

[identity profile] desayuno-ingles.livejournal.com 2007-12-30 03:59 am (UTC)(link)
I'll weigh in here - I strongly dislike the slicked-down bangs, spiked-up-in-the-back look. It's just one "humble" opinion, though.

[identity profile] annakey.livejournal.com 2007-12-30 01:09 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm a special case - I have to have bangs (I call it a fringe) because I have a spastic forehead and without it I'd look like Max Headroom (http://www.cyberartsweb.org/cpace/art/max/4.jpg), and my hair spikes up by itself no matter what I do!

[identity profile] desayuno-ingles.livejournal.com 2008-01-04 07:34 pm (UTC)(link)
LOL! Well, ok, then you're stuck with it. *grin*

[identity profile] frankeecymraeg.livejournal.com 2007-12-30 02:21 am (UTC)(link)
that song reminds me of london...major

[identity profile] commonpeople.livejournal.com 2007-12-30 02:29 am (UTC)(link)
In years to come, it will remind me too.

[identity profile] frankeecymraeg.livejournal.com 2007-12-30 05:42 pm (UTC)(link)
i still can't believe you plan on moving to my end of the world right before I move to yours

[identity profile] commonpeople.livejournal.com 2007-12-30 06:41 pm (UTC)(link)
It's been my goal in life for the past six years. I just can't give it up like that!

[identity profile] frankeecymraeg.livejournal.com 2007-12-30 07:47 pm (UTC)(link)
:'( :'( :'( You're going to make me hafta fly all the way to Canada to go for coffee.

[identity profile] commonpeople.livejournal.com 2007-12-30 09:41 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm sure there will be plenty of times when I visit London and can go for coffee here. :-)

[identity profile] frankeecymraeg.livejournal.com 2007-12-31 06:16 am (UTC)(link)
WHAT IF I WANT TO GO TO CANADA?! HUH?! WHAT THEN?! JEEZ

[identity profile] commonpeople.livejournal.com 2007-12-31 09:49 am (UTC)(link)
They might not let you in because you are American. :-)

[identity profile] frankeecymraeg.livejournal.com 2007-12-31 04:22 pm (UTC)(link)
eww. frak you! I can get in with my freaking birth certificate. Unless they changed it recently.

[identity profile] desayuno-ingles.livejournal.com 2007-12-30 03:57 am (UTC)(link)
dude, that's robyn? I want at least one pair of those shoes she's wearing. totally awesome.

[identity profile] commonpeople.livejournal.com 2007-12-30 10:43 am (UTC)(link)
Yup, those shoes would look awesome on you.

[identity profile] desayuno-ingles.livejournal.com 2007-12-30 12:50 pm (UTC)(link)
I know! I wonder how one goes about finding if one can find even something approximating them.

[identity profile] commonpeople.livejournal.com 2007-12-30 01:00 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, start out by findind what she wore for that video shoot! Then track down stores in New York that sell it. :-)

[identity profile] desayuno-ingles.livejournal.com 2007-12-30 01:02 pm (UTC)(link)
yeah, yeah, I suppose you're right.

[identity profile] commonpeople.livejournal.com 2007-12-30 01:05 pm (UTC)(link)
There must be a Robyn fan website out there, with all the details.

[identity profile] desayuno-ingles.livejournal.com 2007-12-31 01:13 am (UTC)(link)
Bleh, i'd actually have to look stuff up! Actually, shou'dnt take much work, I'll try to remember to look it up tomorrow.

[identity profile] sparkx.livejournal.com 2007-12-30 08:48 am (UTC)(link)
Love this song and video :oD

[identity profile] gorecky22.livejournal.com 2008-01-07 06:04 pm (UTC)(link)
I like the sad look of Robyn on that video: she makes you feel that it's a sad song... but if you listen to it on a club, you can't avoid dancing and dancing and dancing!!

Love that video!! :D

[identity profile] commonpeople.livejournal.com 2008-01-08 07:29 am (UTC)(link)
In the absence of a club, I dance to it in my living room. ;-)
