Ever since Sissy Jen's wedding a month ago, I've been wondering what it would be like to marry Kevin. What kind of ceremony would we hold? Would it be a big affair? A small event? And what exactly do gay couples do when they get married? I have never been to a gay ceremony so I was struggling to come up with theoretical ideas.

That is, until a colleague of mine sent me the photos below from an acquaintance's wedding.

These have made me feel really inspired and now I'm looking forward to the day when Kevin and I can be joined in matrimony under the eyes of God, our family and friends. Now I just need to figure out a way to get the money for it!

Oh my god, I'm all teary at the thought! You would look so beautiful in that dress, and Kevin would look so handsome in his orange accessories (or, y'know, the other way round, it's really up to you two; hell, how about both wearing the dress, but with an orange cravat-and-hanky combo thrown in for good measure?)

I'm a little confused by the number of apparent brides in those pictures, but whatever makes them happy. Please may I be a bridesmaid, i those exact orange-sherbert dresses? Please? It's such a stunningly flattering colour, I just know I'd look gorgeous (although not gorgeous enough to outshine you and Kevin, obviously!).

More seriously, the only same-sex wedding celebration I've been to so far involved tours round Hackney in a pink stretch limo full of lesbians of a certain age. But that's a bit passé, you should do something different, I think.

This entire comment is amazing. I also say that you would look so, so stunning in that dress. At our pretend/futuretime wedding, Rob and I are going to wear neon pink (me) and neon green (him) so we clash beautifully. His pants have to be 3 inches too short as well, with white socks and beige shoes.

I have a serious phobia of men in pants that are too short!

I know what you mean, it's completely grim! We just like to ~~shock~~ and really challenge people's perceptions of what makes a comfortable wedding.

Or we could have people inside the trouser legs? I think it's about time someone brought back baggy trousers.

So am I.

I have a suspicion those dresses were also hiding very large toilet rolls. ;-)

And before anyone asks, I'm not volunteering to be a bridesmaid, especially if it involves wearing orange. It's *so* not my colour!

Even if I pick my wedding day to be on the same date as Vagabonds? (can't you just see everyone's face as we stumble in?)

I'm not sure there'd be enough room in the venue for a dress of that size and consistency! ;-)

Maybe I should go around hackney in a pink fire engine with a bunch of shirtless firemen?

Yes, yes you should. And I should join you.

("Pink Fire Engine" is totally a really bad euphemism used in dreadful fanfic, I'm sure of it.)

"The little fireman" was a penile euphemism used by Steve Martin in "All of me."

It's lovely how the bright orange accessories coordinate with the bright orange fake tans.
