How's everyone's long weekend coming along? I haven't left the house yet (and it's sunny in London.)



After drinking this coffee I'm going to hoover the living room, mop the kitchen and clean the bathroom.  Then I'm going to put old clothes and books in a donation bag.  All to the sound of Madonna. (Old time readers will know this is the soundtrack I use for cleaning the house.)

Have you got Madonna's new album? I have to admit, it's pretty good. Got it yesterday and I'm really enjoying it. Much better than the previous one anyway.

I'm listening to it for the second time now. Must say I thought it was mediocre first time around!

I'm not saying it's the album of the year (although her timing is pretty good - no else is releasing anything major at the moment and it's coming up to Summer soon) but compared to other Madonna albums from the last decade or so, it's pretty decent.

Hmmm... I might have to take back what I said - on second listen, it's a pretty decent pop album! Very good too for cleaning the house. ;-)

Yeah, I was cleaning to when listening to it and "Gang Bang" really helped me scrub the hell out of the bathroom.

i am drinking coffee and straightening my room, then i plan to walk onward in the glorious sunshine and read cat's eye, which my mother and i are reading together. i've been thinking that you and i ought to read another book together soon. have you read swamplandia? would you be interested?

Never heard of Swamplandia! Sure - i'd be interested. Should we do it after you are done with cat's eye? Giving me a shout when you are close to the end, and in the meantime I'll look for a spare copy.

Haven't left the house yet either. Planning to go see -bat. in a few minutes though. Quiet evening planned to as I have lots of work needs doing and my house is a shocking state. Still, tomorrow is planned as a fun day.

i got out of bed an hour ago, and all i've managed to accomplish is making a pot of coffee and watching an episode of angel. plans include cleaning kitchen/bathroom and going for a long walk along the rideau canal later (also a gorgeous, sunny day in ottawa!)

yay, cleaning house. I am constantly tidying up as I go along as I keep making a mess with my teaching stuff, loads of random/spare copies everywhere etc. I also need to get around to donate some old clothes, although I don't have that much to give away. But lots of books and other stuff at my Mom's, so when I'm there in May I'll probably do a 24-hour-clean-a-thon...

Looking forward to you guys, only 1.5 weeks left!!
