I´m Home!!!!!

The trip was quick and painless. Will write proper update later. It´s really hot and I need to take a shower - and a nap.

The flight was the most uneventful one I took in my life. No delays, no weirdos sitting beside me. Decent food, an individual tv in which I could choose what I wanted to watch (Catwoman and Die Another Day in this case - the first movie sucked and the second was entertaining enough for a boring flight.) Otherwise, I managed to get a surprising 6 hours of sleep and spent the rest reading Michael Connelly's The Black Echo. If you ever need a good thriller with authentic descriptions of crime procedure in LA, well, this is it.

I arrived in São Paulo's international airport at 6 in the morning. I walked from one side of the airport to the other, killing time until my flight to Londrina at 9:15 a.m. Before I knew it, I was saying hello to my brother and mother in Londrina's airport. Back in our apartment, I met my brother's girlfriend Tamis for the first time. She was very shy and smiled at everything I said. My grandmother was also here, as well as my youngest brother Nicholas with his nurse Maria do Carmo. Our daschund Tete jumped all over me and wouldn't leave me alone for the whole day.

After lunch, I quickly checked my email and wrote to Kevin to let him know I'd arrived alright. Then I lay down in my mom's bedroom for a nap. Tete lay right beside me, pressing her back against my back. I blacked out for three hours. When I woke up, the bedroom's door was closed, the curtains were shut and the air-conditioning was on.

After talking to my mom for a while, she told me that Nicholas had been sleeping too much since yesterday and she wanted to take him to his doctor. We spent the rest of the afternoon at his doctor's, then at a nearby clinic having x-rays and blood samples taken. He's now looking better - we think my grandmother gave him the wrong dosage of his medicine. Nicholas had an allergic reaction to the triple vaccine when he was two months old, and since then he's been disabled (he suffered a brain lesion which left him with epilepsy and unable to do anything for himself.) He needs to take different drugs through out the day and recently my grandma had been giving them to him. But, because she's quite old, we think she got the pills messed up... I'm glad he's feeling better now because I wouldn't want my first day in Brasil to begin on the wrong foot.

I also spoke to Martin and we have decided that we definetly want to go to Natal next week. We want the sea, the beaches, the walks through the old town, the history of the place. We want to relax, go windsurfing, snorkling (expect an icon soon hehehe!) I feel very good right now being back home.

Kevin, everyone asked about you! My brother wants you to send us that flash birthday card you made for Natalia. Send it to me by email. xoxoxox
