i don't get it - i don't know the story - why are people doing such stupid things like throwing eggs on David Blaine's house ? if he wants to fast, that's his choice. Why are they pissing him off ? Is it some political or religious decision ?
it's not his house. He has suspended himself by the Tower Bridge, in a glass case, and he is going to spend 40 days in it without any food (and a few diapers.)
I think it's disgusting... is he going to give the money he makes to people who are actually starving in this world? I don't mean to sound so moralistic, but I don't see the magic in this act... I thought he was a magician, someone who was going to entertain people... now he's become this weird media hungry person...

exactly! i can't see the point aswell... people go there and he's lying in the box, covered by his duvet, looking bored. It doesn't even work as a piece of art.
he didn't go down well here in England... i guess I posted this because I don't see what's so "magic" about this, what's so "spetacular" or where the great "illusion" is...
it seems like a big waste of time for everyone involved.
it reminds me of that Kafka short-story, "The Hunger Artist". When I read that story, I had nightmares afterwards... maybe this stunt is disturbing to me because it touches somewhere down there in my psyche.
i'm sure he will last... there's some gimmick which we are not aware of, some trick with mirrors, that allows him to get food in there... he is an illusionist, after all.
