In two days, my mother is arriving. I received an email from my father and he told me to keep the money I borrowed from him: a birthday gift. It's a lot of money... my brother sent me an email: he's obsessed with spirals and vortexes. His girlfriend is as well. They are artists and they see vortexes everywhere. My brother was inspired by this when he saw a Japanese horror movie of the same name - Vortex

Everyday is like Sunday
Everyday is silent and grey

I don't have a promenade to hide in, nor postcards to etch on. I live on a city by a river, and perhaps one day it will be brought down by a nuclear bomb.

The weather has taken a turn, cooling down and darkening the skies. My mother will be happy - she loves the cold. I have to find a good musical to take her to. Is there such a thing as a good musical? And I have to thank my father for giving me so much money as a birthday gift. And I have to find some oil paints and special pens for my brother; my mom will take it back to him when she returns on the 2nd.

What'd your brother think of that one? I've heard about it (from a column in The Third Alternative, which covers the darker side of Japanese culture) and I thought about picking it up. But I'd like to know if it's any good first.

oh, it is very good! I saw it with him when he came to visit me in London... the plot makes no sense (as it is with all good Asian horror movies) but the cinematography is excellent, and it's just bizarre how the people get killed by vortexes...

I read a few of the ways on the back of the box. Well, with that kind of endorsement, how can I lose? ^_^

You know, I wonder if there's a community for warped horror movies. If not, there should be. I'd make one if I had the codes...

be patient if your present arrives some days after your birthday! The post office is partially on strike here...( I haven't received a bill for six days!!! weird!!)..so the service has been terribly slow . I hope everything goes back to normal next week......
