Brandy was the only survivor. I can't believe I watched that thing till the end. I can only find some comfort in the fact that the characters suffered because they didn't know the capital of Brasil.
i put a play back on the shelf because one character, Najinksy, was supposed to be Polish and was stereotyped as a womanizing alcoholic...what really irked me was that if you're going to make the Pole be the bad guy (again and again), then at least use a name that's accurate. what the hell nationality is Najinsky??
i thought that globalization was supposed to be fixing this "hey, we don't know shit about your culture but we're still going to perpetuate falsehoods and display our ignorance" problem. *smirk*
The problem is with lazy script writers. In the movie, the characters eventually discover that Brasilia is the capital of Brasil, but it got me thinking: "how come 4 college students, and their families, thought Rio was the capital of Brasil? Shouldn't at least one of them know that was wrong?"
ohhh, now you got ME going too
