Am now in London. Flight was boring and painful. I sat by the window for eleven hours without getting up. I almost lost my right foot due to bad circulation. I watched Collateral, with Tom Cruise, and was entertained. I ate the food the air stewards served me; I drank the white wine even though it tasted rough. I thought to myself: Ollie, if you ever own an air company, hire only drag queens and drag kings to be the air stewards. You`ll make millions.
In Milan, I got stuck in the airport`s bathroom. I went into one of the cabins and the lock got jammed. Because I didn`t want to call for help (embarrassment) I kicked the door and it opened. A fog descended on the airport and my flight got delayed. Other flights were being cancelled and a cold sweat broke out all over my body: if I were to be stuck in Milan, I`d have only 5 euros to survive. Images of me drinking bathroom water to survive the days in an unfriendly airport rushed through my mind. But, thank the gods, my flight was not cancelled and I made it to London.
My boyfriend was waiting for me at Arrivals (but where was everyone else? Where were the banners?) When I tried to draw some cash out of a machine, I found out that my card had expired. Thank the gods, again, that my boyfriend came to the airport and could lend me some money! When we got back to our apartment, there was a banner saying "Welcome Home" with three little munchkins drawn beside it, hanging by the living room.
Seeing The Sissys was nice. They liked my gifts and entertained me with tales of what they`ve been up to since I`ve been gone. Both of them are now dating (Jennifer is seeing Tim, from Essex; Allison is besoted with Giorgio, from Italy.)
It doesn`t feel like I`ve been gone from London for 7 weeks. And I do think the British public would improve immensely if they had tans and smiled more often. But, nevertheless, I`ve learned to like London and I`m looking forward to finding a job (*cough cough*) and having more adventures here. Talk to you soon, you bunch of chipmunks!

on 2005-04-15 12:55 pm (UTC)You must definetly let me know when you come to England. We`ll go out dancing or drinking, or simply sit in a park and talk.

on 2005-04-15 08:30 am (UTC)I'm also extremely dissapointed of you - first you go to Brasil, then to add insult to injury your return flight includes a stop-over in Milan, AND YOU STILL NEVER MANAGED TO CAPTURE KAKÁ FOR ME?! =o\

Karla... oh my god... they are having some crazy discounts for Gamecube stuff here. You can buy 3 games for 20 pounds in GAME (used games, but whatever.) Very tempting, as you can imagine...
