Banana Republic
Mar. 12th, 2008 03:39 pmDoes anyone know a good recipe for banana cake? I bought about 20 bananas for £1 and now I need to do something with them before they go bad!
Yes, I know I can Google search, but I'd rather try a recipe you know well and love. Cheers. :-)

on 2008-03-13 07:23 pm (UTC)cream 1/2 cup of butter (240g) with 1 cup of sugar.
add an egg, 5 tbsp of milk and some vanilla (flavour or sugar)
mix in a separate bowl first: 2 cups of flour, 1 tsp of baking powder and 1/2 tsp of salt.
mix all together and add four (or so) ripe bananas.
bake for an hour at 175°.
(I like to mix half of the dough with the bananas and the other half with cocoa powder, than layer it, more or less, into a casserole dish and bake, that's really nice.)
